Cypress Asset Management, headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia, was founded by
Xavier J. Urpi in 1995, after he was the Director of U.S. Fixed Income at Smith Barney Capital
Management, overseeing a portfolio in excess of $5 billion in assets.
Prior to that, Xavier was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Lehman Management Company
where he jointly developed the Lehman (now Barclays Capital) indices.
He holds a BA in Mathematics from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Science and attended the
graduate program for Business Administration at the Stern School of Business at New York University.
Xavier has utilized his vast experience to help clients identify and customize indices for their funds.
